I’m personally not the most knowledgeable when it comes to cars. Because of this, I always dread having to take them in for any type of maintenance or repairs… (More than the usual).
Of course, now that my son is driving, this leaves us with 3 cars to worry about. And as it always seems to go, his car is most often in need of repairs. In this case, the windshield had been giving us the most trouble. When we bought his car, the windshield had a major crack beyond cosmetic repair. However, the mechanic assured us he would replace the windshield for a relatively small fee. This seemed fair. Two birds, one stone. Right?

Wrong. At first, the windshield seemed to be in perfect condition. No complaints. However, about 7 weeks after we purchased the car, my son realized that the windshield leaked during heavy rain! So, of course, we took the car back to the same mechanic we bought it from. He took a quick peek and made the “necessary adjustments.” He then charged us for labor, which I was happy to provide, and sent us back on our way.
Then, you guessed it. Only 2 weeks later, during the next rainstorm, my son reported the same problem. Now upset with having paid for anything at that last visit, I decided to look for someone completely new.
While shopping around, a co-worker mentioned 20/20 Auto Glass for a windshield replacement. After reviewing several other mechanics and glass specialists in the area, what really sold them for me was their guarantee: If your windshield ever leaks water, they’ll not only fix it but also give you $100! After all we’d been through, that was a done deal.
From the initial phone call to the end, we received nothing but helpful and genuine customer service. And as it turns out, the windshield the mechanic had used didn’t even match our car properly. The glass specialist at 20/20 assured us he would replace the windshield properly. Not only that, 20/20 helped us file the claim with our insurance to waive the deductible with ease! (I like handling insurance companies about as much as I like handling car troubles, so this was an extra bonus).
My son is now 5 months into using this new windshield and we’ve had no more issues. I’m so grateful for both the friend who recommended 20/20 Auto Glass and all those who work there. If ever you find yourself in need of a windshield replacement company in the Greenville area, my advice is to give 20/20 a call! They get the job done right.
